Pardeeville Boys Club Minutes
August 2, 2006
The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm by President, Russ Knutson. Those in attendance were, Russ Knutson, Judy Thurston, Chris Johnson, Dan Slade, Shawn Mecum and Randy Schulte.
The bleachers that the Boys Club purchased have arrived and will be put together on Wednesday, August 16th.
After the August 1st football sign up we currently have:
21 – 4th Graders
12 – 5th Graders
19 – 6th Graders
First football practices for all the boys will be at 5:30pm on August 8th at the practice field by the High School. 5th – 6th grade team will practice Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. 4th grade team will practice on Tuesday and Thursday.
Football Coaches this year will be:
5th – 6th grade:
Russ Knutson Chad Hoff
Shawn Mecum Noah Schmidt
Dan Slade
4th Grade:
Randy Schulte Chuck Wais
Shad Thurston Jason Cook
Schedules should be ready by August 18th. Two home games will be played n the Varsity Field, they will be on September 23rd and October 7th. The rest of the home games will be played on the practice field at the High School.
Tuesday, August 15th will be equipment handout, payment due from players and weigh-ins. Times that each grade needs to be there will be handed out at one of the first practices. A second weigh in for boys that are border line will be at the August 29th practice. During equipment hand out each 4th grade boy will get a yellow practice jersey to keep in addition to there equipment. Each boy that plays will get a Boys Club T-shirt. The old pants will be available to purchase at $10 per set that includes pants and pads.
Randy Schulte will take care of contacting Bret Achteberg to set up officials for the home games.
Russ Knutson is going to order a port a potty from Country Plumber to have on the field.
The field goal posts for the practice field have been ordered. The scoreboard for that field was donated to us by the Portage Youth Hockey League. The scoreboard is being re-vamped to fit our needs and will be up shortly. Wraps for the goal posts will be needed. More to come on that after the posts are installed.
We talked about having another fund raiser this year, Dan Slade to get information on selling football cards. He will get the information and report back at the next meeting.
We also decided that it would be nice to have a donation can at the concession stands during the Boys Club home games asking for donations for field upkeep; Judy Thurston to be in-charge of that.
The Bulldog Foundation gave there ok for the Boys Club to use part of the storage under the new sky box to store our football equipment. We will be discussing the details of that after the sky box is built and football has ended and it is time to store our stuff.
