December 06 Meeting Minutes
Pardeeville Boys Club Minutes
December 6, 2006
Meeting was called to order by President, Russ Knutson at 6:00pm. Those present were Russ Knutson, Judy Thurston, Chris Johnson, Vicki Griepentrog, Randy Schulte and Shawn Meccum.
Old Business:
There have been no winners with the football mania cards that we have sold, at least not yet.
There was discussion on getting insurance for the football equipment that is stored in the press box at the football complex. Chris Johnson was going to call around to local insurance companies and get a quote.
The press box in the park needs to be removed by year end otherwise the Village is going to charge the school to remove it. Vicki Griepentrog and Russ Knutson have been in contact with an individual to get that taken care of, to meet the Village deadlines.
New Business:
Russ Knutson was going to work on the basketball screen print and have t-shirts and sweatshirts ordered and available for sale.
Boys Club has coaches for all 5 teams this year. They are:
4th Grade – Pam Bauer
5th Grade – Tony Griepentrog
6th Grade – Russ Knutson
7th Grade – Dave Osborn
8th Grade – Tim Hagy
No one has come forward and expressed any interest in coaching the Young Bulldogs. So at this point there will not be a Young Bulldogs program this year. Hopefully we can get someone to coach it next year.
Russ Knutson was going to be getting 1 new basketball per team for this year along with scorebooks, whiteboards and whistles.
Basketball Tournaments:
Teams have been signing up for the two upcoming basketball tournaments. 6th & 7th grade tournament on January 13th and 4th & 5th grade tournament on January 27th.
Russ is working on getting referee’s for all the games for both tournaments. He is also going to order the ribbons, medals and trophies
It was agreed upon to hire Carol Babcock to set up the concession stands for both tournaments. Carol would order the food and organize the kitchen; the Boys Club needs to provide the workers to cover the shifts.
Boys Club was going to hire a janitor for both tournaments for clean up. It worked out very well last year and was well worth the cost.
We will finalize the details for both tournaments at the next meeting.
Next Meeting will be January 3rd, 6:00pm in Phil Kamarath’s room.
